Ngorongoro Serena Lodge Review: Pros and Cons
If you are planning one of the African safari vacations in Tanzania, then you may want to consider the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge as the place to stay. This lodge has much to offer as a quality choice, and there are very few disadvantages of staying here. There are other lodging choices, such as the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, but the Serena is located significantly closer to the descent road used for the crater access that the lodges are situated on, so that means less travel time and more time to enjoy the sights. Staying in the park when you travel Tanzania will cost you more than places outside the park area, but the closeness to the wildlife and the other attractions make the additional cost worthwhile.
One of the pros of the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is that the views from the rooms are exquisite at any time of day, especially in the morning and evening when the sun sets. You may look down into the Ngorongoro crater and see elephants and other native animals roaming. The room size may vary some, depending on which floor and room you get, but most of the rooms are spacious and comfortably decorated. The food at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge was nice as well, with tasty dishes and an abundance available.
Ngorongoro Serena Lodge offers hot and cold running water, and private baths. While dining or looking out of your room you may view the Ngorongoro lions roaming around, and the staff at the lodge are top rate. They are courteous and professional in every way, with a helpful attitude. The price is comparable to the other resorts located on the crater rim, and the rooms are enjoyable to stay in. The Ngorongoro Serena Lodge may get busy at certain times though, and can become crowded. You may find the noise and activity of many other guests to be distracting, and if this is the case then it may be a good idea to go in the off season instead of the busiest season of the year.
